Dry tamales not the best in Colorado worst I'd say
Really good tamales here
Tamales are meh, service was horrible. Older man behind the counter made it pretty clear he wasn't happy to be serving me. I don't need to pay money to get attitude from people.
Little hole in the wall place with amazing food
Best gem I've ever found
Rude man behind counter. Very dirty. Nasty tamales.
I don't know why people complain. Nice people, good food and good prices. Locals eat here. Nuff said!
I will never go back to that place again. I went in to order something to go and the gentleman waiting on us was very rude didn't talk to us didn't say anything. I did place an order and with an attitude he had I just asked for my money and left. I will never go back there.
We bought tamales from her for thanksgiving and there was a long long hair in one of them. I was so disgusted and embarrassed for this place! Haven’t been back since. Wish I had taken a photo.
The guy behind the counter was very rude, it was our first time there and he treated us like trash. I don't recommend this place!!
Called in ahead and still waited additional 20 minutes after I arrived even though nobody was there. All the food was dry, crusty & looked liked it had been sitting out for days.
The guy taking our order needs to work on his people skills, real grouchy
I love this place. The chili relleno's are awesome! I also love the green chili and salsa. The store is ran by one man who is always hustling. Street tacos are good too! I drive across town to visit and never regret. Thank you!
Decently tasty tamales. I've had better and juicier, but these were better than your average Mexican places.
Don't even think about it. I tan next door and after walking out of many Denver Mexican restaurants, this place proved to be the same as the rest. Dirty! Dirty! Dirty! The guy who came to the counter was sweaty and smelled bad. The carpet looked as If it had never been vacuumed, with stray pieces of rice, ripped paper, and who knows what else! There were open, half used, tin containers of refried beans in the Coca Cola fridge in the dining area!! Most of the tables weren't even clean. When I looked in the back it was atrocious! Back kitchen door open, flies flying around, used containers sitting out and food preparation counter was not cleaned! How anybody could walk into this place and still have an appetite is beyond me. I saw a guy drive up and walk in today, and actually thought less of him. Yes, a complete stranger. Does Denver even have a DHEC?! If so, you guys are slacking. 90% of these cantinas wouldn't even make first inspection on the East Coast..
I love this place it reminds me of my mom's cooking back in South Texas!
Awesome Chili Rellenos and very friendly staff. Tacos are perfect too!
Very disappointed. There were no other patrons when we came in. One man working. No hello, no thank you, no eye contact and the tamales were pretty bad. Not traditional like we've had at other places. This place just opened so I'm thinking it's not getting the biz. Still no reason for bad customer service.
Only tried the tamales but they were very very good. I will be back to try other items... And for more tamales
Authentic Mexican Food. This place is one of those little hole in the wall places that you'll fall in love with. Horchata from a big bucket. Killer tamales!! Everyone is very friendly and they have MexiCokes too!
Ordered two meals. One came and we waited over 30 minutes for the next but it never showed up. Nobody checked in with us to let us know if it would ever come. Even after walking back up front to pay, nobody ever mentioned the meal gone rogue. We will never be back.
Good food. Great tamales. Poor service. The restaurant is not the primary business there. Making tamales for wholesale is. Very friendly when you get their attention. English is NOT their language so getting orders straight is difficult. However, you can not beat the prices.
Good food
These are the best tamales! Awesome and super flavorful!
Lady was amazing!! Great customer service and great food!
Great taste. Tamales are very good. For a while didn't seem to be placing enough meat but back to Good
Second time to this place and it’s absolutely delicious. Got the 4 asada tacos last time and they were amazing. I could eat here everyday. Service we had was perfectly fine. I can imagine it being a little frustrating when it’s busy but it wasn’t when we went in. Food is worth it if you can be patient.
Food is always great! I love the chili rellenos, rice, beans, green chili. Tamales are amazing just wish they made some without pork.
Watch your digits
It may be small but this place has some of the Best (if not the best) Mexican food I've ever had! You have to try the tamales!! I don't even like tamales and I'm hooked! Carne asada tacos, enchiladas, and some of the best green chili I've ever had! Remember this is a small place so if you're looking for that true "wait on me" feel, this isn't it. But if you're looking for outstanding Mexican food than you've found it!
The Mexican hamburger was great. Green chili on point.
This place has great tamales and great smothered burritos. Good prices. Great place
I love this place. The carne asada tacos are really good, and so is the chile relleno plate. The guy up front can seem a bit grumpy, but I dont think he means it. As a regular he always asked how my son is and is very nice. Definitely recommend this place for takeout or dine in.
Great food, just expect a small family business. Tamales are seriously tasty.
Food good. Old man needs to learn how to talk to people. Just counting money and blowing off customers.
great tamales. green chile. and tacos. so hard to understand them over the phone or in person.
Good food great prices
Gross! The last time we ate the tamales they were nothing but fat and had a golf ball size bone in them!🤪
Best Tamales I ever had A Must Try
Never been here before..recommened from friends..worst attitude from whoever works there..he treated us so horrible..i will never go back & will not recommend to others..thank God tamale kitchen opened on 88th..you don't treat people the way he did..bye felica!
Went in today to order tamales and they said they would be ready in 15 min. Decided to wait then after 30 min asked if they were ready yet and she said that she had put it in low and that it would be another hr. They open pretty early so would think that they would be ready by 9, guess not.
The food was pretty good, but the cook/server was smoking while we were eating in the dining area. That was very distasteful and made us uncertain about returning in the future.
I decided to try this place again after a few yeaes. They raise the prices of their tamales and the quality is horrible. Looks like a blind child made these.
Absolutely love the tamales here, but every time I have gone in, the man behind the counter had been so ridee to me,, I don't believe it's worth going back due to the service,,, not will I recommend this place anymore
Very good food. You can order in or take out. They're popular for their tamales & have red & green chile tamales. We love their green ones, although they're much hotter than the red, but are delicious. The restaurant is very small but clean. It's comfortable to eat in but again very small with approximately 8 tables. The staff is friendly and professional. Would definitely recommend this restaurant.
The food is great taste, delicious...love it so much. Nothing complaint about this restaurant..
Purchased a dozen hot tamales and a half dozen mild tamales. They shouldn't have been called tamales. They were mostly masa, very little meat. Also, bought a pint of green chile. The chile didn't have one piece of meat.
A wonderfully authentic and delicious mexican restaurant. The tamales are fantastic. The burritos and other foods are also delicious and a great value. Its the right level of spice to let you know youre in a real mexican place. Yes, the cook is grouchy, but who cares? Its $15 for two people to have dinner that would cost you $40 elsewhere and not have anywhere near the flavor.
Homey, traditional style Mexican food. Superb!
First off, I love this place. Been going to Mississippi location since 2005, always perfect, best tamales. The Arvada location had a guy that barely spoke, got my order wrong. I ordered a beef and bean burrito special, smothered shredded beef burrito and 6 green tamales. I got a beef and bean burrito with cheese on it instead of beef and bean special (handheld green chile and cheese on inside) a smothered shredded beef burrito with curdled sour cream and 6 red tamales. Was looking forward to this all week, words can't explain how disappointed I am.
